Beginning Friday June 20th, downtown Los Altos will be transformed into a large outdoor movie theater. The theater’s location is smack dab in the middle of Main Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets. The street closes at 6:00 pm. The movies begin at dusk (approximately 8:45 pm) and last approximately 2 hours.
My family has seen quite a few movies and the routine that works best for us is to arrive around 7:15 to reserve our seat location. This is done by placing lawn chairs and blankets on the street close to the screen. If we have made a picnic, we hang out and eat. If we haven’t, we go to one of the local restaurants and pick up food to go.
The evening can best be described as a small scale Stern Grove but instead of live, world renown entertainment, you’ll be watching kid friendly movies. The first movie in the series will be Sony Pictures’ Water Horse. ![]()
